Footballers’ cars – flash with their cash?
Footballers, especially those who play in the biggest leagues in the world, are famous for banking huge salaries, something that has fans feeling envious and frustrated. Some of the world’s best players earn more in a week than many of us would hope to earn in a year, which may mean they have plenty of money to play with!
With their wealth, they can afford to buy massive country homes, swish apartments and fancy cars. This infographic reveals that many of the sport’s most recognisable names have splashed massive sums on cars, something which may make their supporters even more envious.
Given his enormous salary, it’s almost certain that the Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo will have millions resting in his bank account. As a statement of his wealth, nothing much can beat the £1.5m he paid for his Bugatti Veyron, one of the most famous and rare supercars around.
Some of the other players featured tend to have a collection of cars, but some are a little less profligate with their money. Thierry Henry, now of New York Red Bulls, usually drives his £60,000 Audi to the training ground, knowing that his reputation alone is enough to show how much of a star he is and has been.
